Production Line



Yanggu Henglong Engineering Machinery Co., Ltd.'s rock drilling tool production line is based on intelligent manufacturing, precision control, and a quality-first process, covering the entire product lifecycle from raw material input to finished product delivery. We have built a multi-series production system for different product types, ensuring that every drill bit, drill rod, and mechanical component has efficient, consistent, and reliable performance.



1. Raw Material Pre-processing Line
The foundation of high-quality products lies in strict raw material control. Our pre-processing line is specifically designed for the initial processing of high-grade alloy steel, tungsten carbide, and other core materials:
Intelligent Screening and Testing: Raw materials are first subjected to ultrasonic flaw detection, hardness testing, and chemical composition analysis using automated equipment to eliminate unqualified materials from the source.
Precision Cutting and Forging: According to product specifications, the screened materials are cut into fixed-length blanks using CNC cutting machines, and then shaped using precision forging equipment. The forging process employs constant temperature control technology to ensure the uniformity of the material's internal structure, thereby improving the wear resistance and toughness of the final product.
Surface Cleaning and Anti-rust Treatment: Forged blanks are treated with shot blasting and ultrasonic cleaning to remove scale and impurities, followed by professional anti-rust coating treatment to prevent corrosion during transportation.



2. CNC Precision Machining Production Line
This is the core link of our production system, equipped with a full set of high-end CNC machining equipment, capable of achieving micron-level precision machining:

Multi-axis CNC Lathes and Milling Machines: For drill rods, shank adapters, and other parts with complex threaded structures, we use five-axis CNC machining centers to complete one-stop machining of turning, milling, tapping, and chamfering. The automatic tool change system and real-time size monitoring function ensure that the thread accuracy and geometric tolerances of each product meet international standards (such as R32, T38, GT60).

CNC Grinding Machines: The drill bit head and cutting edges are finely ground by precision CNC grinding machines. Through pre-set grinding paths, the cutting angle and tip shape are optimized to match different rock formation drilling requirements, thereby improving drilling efficiency and tool life.

Flexible Production Units: We have established modular production units for customized products. By quickly switching machining programs and fixtures, we can efficiently produce non-standard mechanical parts to meet customers' personalized needs.



3. Heat Treatment Production Line

Heat treatment is crucial for improving the mechanical properties of rock drilling tools. Our fully automated heat treatment production line utilizes advanced technology to ensure stable performance:

Controlled Atmosphere Quenching and Tempering: Workpieces are fed into a sealed heat treatment furnace via a conveyor belt. The furnace maintains a precise atmosphere and temperature profile, ensuring uniform heating and cooling of the material. This process significantly improves the hardness, strength, and fatigue resistance of drill bits and drill rods.

Surface Hardening Treatment: For products used in harsh working conditions, we perform surface induction hardening or carburizing treatment on key components such as the drill bit body and drill rod joints to further enhance their wear resistance.

Post-Heat Treatment Quality Inspection: Samples are taken from each batch of products for hardness testing and metallographic analysis to verify that the heat treatment results meet design standards.



4. Assembly and Quality Inspection Line

After machining and heat treatment, the products enter the final assembly and rigorous quality inspection process:

Semi-Automatic Assembly: For assembled products such as ball-head drill bits, we use semi-automatic assembly equipment to press the tungsten carbide ball heads into the drill bit body with precise force control, ensuring a secure connection and consistent positioning.

Multiple Quality Inspections : Including :

Dimensional Accuracy Inspection: A three-dimensional coordinate measuring machine (CMM) is used to inspect the overall dimensions, thread fit, and geometric shape of the products.

Packaging and Labeling: Qualified products are packaged with rust-proof oil and wrapped in moisture-proof film, then placed in sturdy cardboard or wooden boxes. Each package is labeled with the product model, batch number, production date, and quality label.
