Product Description

R17/R19/R22/R25 Thread 28mm Diameter Roof Bolting Bit Pneumatic Rock Drill Compatible Anchor Drill Bit

Our 28R series anchor bits cover R17, R19, R22, and R25 thread options. Taking the widely adopted 28R17 model as the core, this 28 mm anchor drill bit is built for roof bolting works in coal mine reinforcement projects. It delivers stable performance under rigorous underground conditions, with balanced structural strength and abrasion resistance to suit variable hard rock layers.

Core Specifications
Thread R17
Diameter 28 mm
Carbide Grades YG8 for hard rock; YG6 for medium-hard rock
Connection Threaded or taper fit
Flute Style Spiral / straight flute for reliable cuttings evacuation
Working Air Pressure 0.5 – 0.7 MPa, matched with pneumatic rock drills
Anchor Bit Features

This 4-blade symmetrical roof bolt bit is available in a 17–28 mm diameter range with an R17 shank. Optimized rock-breaking geometry brings high drilling efficiency, ideal for medium-hard strata such as sandstone and shale. The base body adopts 42CrMo alloy steel, fitted with YG8 / YG11C carbide inserts.

Field Operation Guidelines
  1. Rig compatibility: Double-check the joint type (thread or taper) to guarantee proper mating with your drill shank.
  2. Formation matching: Cross bits are recommended for soft rock to boost penetration rate. Button bits work better for hard rock to reduce premature wear.
  3. Cooling & slag removal: Use compressed air or water mist cooling to avoid bit overheating. Periodically clear rock dust inside boreholes to prevent jamming.
  4. Service life control: One regrind can extend usable life by roughly 30%; maximum 3 regrinds allowed. Replace heavily worn bits promptly to avoid hole deviation.
