28mm Outer Diameter R17 Thread Tungsten Carbide YG8 Rock Bolt Drill Bit And Anchor Drill Bit For Coal Mine Roof Bolting

The Henglong 28R17 anchoring bit is engineered for roof bolting holes in underground coal mine support operations. It delivers reliable tensile strength and abrasion resistance, maintaining stable drilling progress even through tough, hard rock strata.

  • R17 Thread
  • 28 mm Diameter
  • YG8 / YG6 Carbide
  • 42CrMo Alloy Steel
Technical Specifications
Thread R17
Outer Diameter 28 mm
Tungsten Carbide Grade YG8 for hard rock; YG6 for medium-hard rock
Connection Threaded (R19 / R22 / R25) or tapered shank
Flute Type Spiral or straight flute for fast cuttings evacuation
Working Air Pressure 0.5–0.7 MPa, matched with pneumatic rock drills
Anchor Bit Range

We supply anchor bits covering 17–28 mm in the R17 series. The symmetrical 4-cutter layout maximizes rock-breaking efficiency and is perfectly suited for medium-hard formations, including sandstone and shale.

Body material: 42CrMo alloy steel, fitted with YG8 / YG11C carbide inserts.

Operational Guidelines
  1. 1 Shank Matching Confirm the bit connection (threaded or tapered) fits your drill rig adapter before installation.
  2. 2 Bit Selection by Ground Condition Cross-type bits are preferred for soft rock to boost penetration speed. Button / ball-tooth bits are recommended for hard rock to slow down carbide wear.
  3. 3 Cooling & Slag Discharge Adopt compressed air or water mist cooling to avoid thermal damage. Periodically clear rock dust inside boreholes to prevent rod jamming.
  4. 4 Service Life Control Proper regrinding can extend usable life by roughly 30%. We advise no more than three regrinds. Replace bits once heavy wear appears to prevent borehole deviation.
